REOC archives

Millie Sefranek from the REOC, is their library coordinator, and has charge of their archives, which apparently got quite jumbled when they moved to the new location. She wants some advice and tutoring on archives, how to organize etc. Am going to be meeting with her int he next couple weeks.

'64 Reunion

Just talked to Mary Merle (Duryea) '64, who is organizing their 50th reunion. Has images wants for a memory book, a slideshow, and also wants either me or Bruce to supply a 1 page history of the school for the book. I said I will talk to Bruce.

Spring Interns

Sharon Carpenter, 3 credit independent study, working on student literary publications, e.g. Vistas. Will do finding guide, scan club pages from Saga and Stylus, write paper...

Emily Henrich, was here in fall from Leslie's HST class, will continue, for 3 credits, working on Stylus history.

Kaitlin Schimmel (?), 3 credit internship, on history of ca1870-1940 Greek Letter Societies.

Chelsea, student from Dance, back for more scanning their archives, needs to start learning the book scanner.

Martin Norment, Chris' son, is going to scan several hundred slides for his father, need to teach him how.

Flora Townsend, Holley Standard

Email, looking for info on folks named Townsend, in Brockport, Holley. Started with inquiry about Holley Standard. Are some hits in Brockport Republic, will email him link to that. Unfortunately Holley Standard is not online and I do not have time to browse thru it.

ca1971 faculty

Email asking for names of Philosophy and History profs ca1971, including who taught Russian history. No Russian history in History Dept. section, but some history as well as language in Foreign Languages minor in Russian section. Scanned, merged and sent pages for those depts from the '71-72 catalog to her.

Stylus Centennial

Lots of work in progress putting together physical and slide show displays etc. for the centennial of the Stylus.

Sarah C. Smith

A new email from the prof at Hokusei Gakuen University in Sapporo, Japan, seeking further information on Sarah C. Smith who was a student here a term or two then went on to become a missionary in Japan for the Presbyterians and helped found this college. (emeriti Kazumi Nakano attended this school.)Will take some digging, more local/western NY history than college history specifically. Replied, said will get to it as soon as I can, will keep him posted.

Slide scanning

Chris Norment in Env Sci has slides he wants scanned, and his son who is a history major here contacted me about doing it. I will be talking to him about times he can come in, show him how it works...

Duff - intern

Spent a couple hours working with UB library school student showing her scanning & photoshop editing basics. She will be scanning the Blanket Tax/Student Council etc. pages from the Saga for me.

Class images

Continuing to locate, scan, and send to Kim Scott representative images for the classes of 1964, 1969, 1974 & 1989. Have done '64, almost done with '69.
